This webpage is intended as a supplement to materials used by students enrolled in English 430: Chaucer at Edgewood College (although others are of course welcome to use the page). It is not intended as a stand-alone resource for the study of the Canterbury Tales, of Chaucer, or of medieval culture; most supplementary readings and other materials are provided through links to other sites and through references to print texts.
Students enrolled in the course are required to make regular use of the webpage:
In addition, students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with general and specialized resources for literary study on the web. Two sites which are of particular interest are Georgetown University's Labyrinth (an indispensable clearinghouse of internet resources for anyone who is interested in medieval studies) and Harvard's Geoffrey Chaucer Website (a superb and beautifully designed guide to Chaucer, especially for the Canterbury Tales). Other sites of interest for the study of Chaucer and the Middle Ages are included on the Resources on Chaucer and Resources on the Middle Ages pages.
