Biography

Lauren J. Lacey, an Associate Professor in English and Director of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program, teaches courses in contemporary literature, postcolonial fiction, feminist theory, and speculative fiction. Some of her classes include a first-year seminar on "Fairy Tales and Feminism," a general education literature course on "Science Fiction," an upper division literature and theory course in "Environmental Literature," and a senior seminar on "Contemporary Global Feminisms." Her current research projects include an analysis of gender and sexuality in New Age science fiction and an exploration of post-human relationships in contemporary theory and fiction.
