In the Knight’s Tale, the love that is seen is very likely back in those days. There are two men, Palamon and Arcite, who both love the same girl, Emelye, with all of their heart. They settle this like most men would do back in those days by having a battle. They both are to organize their own army and the winner of the battle will receive Emelye as their gift. I believe this is and is not realistic at parts. It is not very realistic for the two men to get dismissed from jail, but a battle to decide who wins Emelye would be realistic in their days, not ours. In today’s society, one gets to decide who one wish to marry and a battle would not choose the outcome. The Miller’s Tale does not seem very likely at all. Nicholas tells John about a second coming of a flood that will be greater than that of the flood and Noah’s Arc. John believes him right away and goes on to build three tubs. However, John is not seeing doing any actions in case this flood does happen. It also is far-fetched that a man would let another man kiss his own butt. I would not see a man ever agreeing to that. The Wife of Bath’s tale is also not very likely at all. It starts out by saying in the prologue that she had her first marriage at the age of twelve, which does not happen. Then it goes on and the knight has to promise to an old hag that he would stay true to her, if she can help him find out the riddle to keep his own head. She ends up giving him the right answer, but he must marry her. He is dreading that and begs her to take it back. She gives him a choice to be pretty, young an unfaithful, or old, ugly, and faithful. He lets her choose which she would rather have, which is the answer she wanted, and she ends up being young, beautiful and faithful and the two live happily married, which is not a likely scenario for her to change.
