I feel like the pardoner is just a heartless man. I don’t think he cares about what he does. I think he actually finds joy in conning people. He is one of those characters that would make someone sick because he is so rude. I don’t think there is any shame from him at all when he does things. I don’t think there is any reasonable way to justify his actions. When he tried to sell his relics for money even though he knew, and told everyone, they were fake, was just ridiculous. And on top of all the bad things he does, he works at a church. I think his lying and trickery and working at a church are not a good combination and honestly don’t make sense. It seems like there is something more about the pardoner that we don’t know to understand why he is the way he is. Otherwise, I think he is just a messed up character.
