Starting with the question of are the tails of wife of bath and the millers tail realistic I would say no. I’m not sure but I do not think that people would be that gullible as the carpenter as in the millers tail to think that some guy comes around and he randomly just speaks to god after being lazy for days. I guess he did have a good background in astrology but I don’t think the carpenter would believe it that fast. There where many different views of love in the millers tail. All three characters in the tail had different vies of love. First the carpenter named Jon who was an old man and found love to be in a young beautiful woman who was full of life. Next is the wife alisoun of the carpenter who looks at love in a security view yet knows her youth even though she is married. Finally there is the young educated man named Nicolas who found love in many women and was eager to lay with the young wife of Jon. This shows that possibly love is found in the hunt and trickery of adultery for Nicolas. All three of the characters show a lack in strong affection for love but rather view it as a game or prize. So I do not believe that the miller’s tale is far from realistic because of the lack of true romance in any of the characters. So in this tail the difference in love is that there is no true love as in the knights tail. The knight’s tail shows true affection of love from arcities and palamon. I say they show love because they have fallen so hard for emely that they would die for her. On the other side emely doesn’t want anything to do with it but she is drug into the mess. So I would say emely doesn’t show love the whole time in the tail. so I would say she has the same love as alisoun had in the millers tail because neither probably didn’t have much say in who they would marry.
