
On the Edge
has been selected as a national finalist for Best
College Newspaper in the four-year, non-daily category
by the Associated Collegiate Press. This is the second
consecutive year that On the Edge has been
chosen as a finalist in the ACP's national competition.
This year, there were entries from 234 universities and
colleges.
All finalists and prize
winners this year will be honored at the ACP's National
College Media Convention on October 28, 2006, in St.
Louis.
Finalists were selected
by a panel of professional journalists from the St.
Louis Post-Dispatch, based on excellence in the
following:
1. Coverage and content
2. Quality of writing and reporting
3. Leadership on the opinion page
4. Evidence of in-depth reporting
5.Layout/design
6. Photography, art and graphics
Last year, On the
Edge received the third-place national award in
Reporting and honorable mention in Editorial Writing in
the Associated Collegiate Press national competition.

Cisar, Brianna Donovan, and Maisie Ramsay.
