David Young joined the faculty at Edgewood College in 1994. His areas of interest include Creative Writing, American Literature, Irish Literature, and Literature of the American West. His received his B.A. degree from Duke University and his M.F.A degree from Indiana University. Honors include a Creative Writing Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and a Literary Arts Grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board. In recent years he has presented papers on Raymond Carver and William Styron at the American Literature Association. He was faculty advisor to the student newspaper, On the Edge, for ten years, and now serves as faculty advisor to the campus literary magazine, Edgewood Review. His most recent publications are a short story in The River Oak Review and an essay on William Styron in The Southern Literary Journal. A new short story will appear in the anthology Appalachian Nature from West Virginia University Press in 2018.
